Stems.

The stem is the thick rib that runs up the middle of the leaf. We separate it in threshing, condition it, cut it, dry it and grade it by length.

Buyers use stem to build filling power into a blend and to hold cost down. It goes into cut rolled and expanded stem, into reconstituted sheet, and into filler.

Our stem is separated and graded from leaf bought on Zimbabwe's licensed auction floors, for customers at home and overseas.

Engineering Structural Consistency Along the Line

Our buyers know the Zimbabwe grading system and know how a run of bales behaves on a sales line. Our factory people know what conditioning and threshing do to strip size. Our leaf accounts team ties every kilogram bought to every kilogram packed and shipped. Our IT systems hold that record and make it auditable. Between them over 20 years of tobacco experience.
