Fines.
Fines are the smaller pieces of leaf that come off the line during threshing and drying. They are screened, graded by size and packed separately.
We grade fines the way the trade does, by the screen they pass through and the screen they are held on, and we supply them bright, orange or dark.
Our fines are screened and graded from leaf bought on Zimbabwe's licensed auction floors, for customers at home and overseas.
| Grade | How it is screened |
|---|---|
| F4 | Through a quarter inch screen, held on a one eighth inch screen |
| F8 | Through a one eighth inch screen, held on a one sixteenth inch screen |
| F16 | Through a one sixteenth inch screen, held on a one thirty second inch screen |
| Colours | Bright, orange or dark |
| Packing | C48 cases, kraft paper top and bottom, 200 kg net |

Mogo Tobacco
Maximizing Blend Efficiency Through Precision Separation
Our buyers know which grades throw off the right proportion of fines once they hit the thresher. Our factory people run the sieve stack that separates F4 from F8 from F16, and know the difference a screen size makes to how a blend runs. Our leaf accounts team ties every kilogram screened to every kilogram packed and shipped. Our IT systems hold that record and make it auditable. Between them, over 20 years of tobacco experience.
